Interview with Kevin James

The crew was honored to receive Kevin James’ only Boston interview while he was filming Paul Blart: Mall Cop at the Braintree Mall. Kevin was incredibly kind and accommodating and the crew was thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with him. The crew followed up with Exit Interviews at the Braintree and Burlington Malls after the movie. .

Ablevision Visits Bevery Bootstraps

Ablevision often times will profile other non profits doing great work and Bootstraps is no exception. Every year, they give away hundreds of backpacks full of school supplies to needy children and also run a food pantry. The crew was honored to interview the staff and talk to the excited children getting their new backpacks.

Ablevision Visits Windrush Farms

Ablevision was featured on NECN in October, and they covered us covering this story about a therapeutic horseback riding center. The class we filmed was from the Perkins School for the blind, and the students were learning how to tack and ride horses. The episode also went on to win the national Best Access-Able award at the Hometown Video Awards.

Ablevision Safety Video

Here at Ablevision, we love to have fun too! The safety video was a humorous way to demonstrate various safety issues and has been one of our most popular stories.

National Disability Employment Awareness Month

For NDEAM 2008, crew members profiled six individuals who had disabilities but were working successfully in the community. It was our hope that employers would see the benefit of hiring people with disabilities. The shorts were screened at a state wide conference in Michigan.

Nicky and the Roma Band

This was one of Ablevision’s very first stories in which the crew visited Nick, a fellow crew member who plays in the Roma Band. The Roma Band is a very famous band in Boston that plays at all the Saints Festivals in the North End. Nick still continues to dazzle us with his musical ability…most recently, he sang “That’s Amore” for a radio spot for Triangle.

The Mystery of Lisa Heinz Part 1

This fictional story was written by a crew member who was very unsure and nervous when she first began in Ablevision. Since then, she has blossomed into a talented writer, and “Lisa Heinz” is Ablevision’s first original fictional piece.
